Dear FUCCIT followers,

As you might have noticed, the amount of posts on FUCCIT has gone down drastically.
I survived the first 3 weeks of my new job, well survived sounds dramatic, coz I love my new job! But since my new job is an office job, me sitting behind a computer all day every day, I kinda lost the interest to search the world wide web for interesting content to post on FUCCIT. I still got a real life beside FUCCIT. I need my telly and Mrs. Votske likes attention too…
And I find it harder every day to find kinda original content to put on this blog. It’s the always returning question, what is and what isn’t interesting enough to re-post?
Running a fixed gear blog isn’t as easy as it might sound. Every self respecting fixed gear enthusiast already follows Prolly, ZLOG or Pedal Consumption, so there’s no need to re-post the vids or pics posted there, unless they’re REALLY cool.

I wish I could say I’m posting less because of the fact I’m always outside riding, but that ain’t true… I’m getting really sick and tired of all the ice and snow! It’s been AGES since the last proper street session. Or even a long distance ride…
Maybe I should get this Livestrong Limited Edition Indoor Cycle:

It might not come close to a proper street session, but at least I can get rid of all the extra energy, build up in me. I can’t sit still behind my desk anymore! 
That might be one of the New Year’s resolutions I could have, move more! Having an office job combined with quitting smoking sounds like a recipe for getting fat!

I think 2011 can be a very interesting year.
I personally will try to find more original content, focus more on the quality than the quantity of posts.
We should finally go outside and use Tjeerd’s GoPro for making a fixed gear mountain biking / cyclocross edit instead of letting him only use it for his home made bike porn collection.
Will Mitch move from 700C to 26″?
Will I get fat?
Will Tjeerd and Le Haute post more?
Will Mitch make his first post on FUCCIT?
Will bike polo make a return in Arnhem?
Will FUCCIT get a make over?
Will Stoffel move back to Arnhem?
Will Utje finally get pubic hair?
Will Mitch get a better nickname than Skitch or Spiderman?
Will FUCCIT get merchandise?
Will Tjeerd stay bald?
Will Cancellara win the Tour?

Enough questions left to answer in 2011, so FUCCIT! Double C, I, T!

I had the pleasure to watch and hear Rik van den Bosch play live in the Oranje Koffiehuis. Before his break, he played a song while backward trackstanding on Tjeerd’s bike. Props! He did break his personal record! On the 2008 ECMC he lasted 20 seconds, yesterday he lasted 35 seconds!

Tjeerd already posted about the Murder of Couriers project, but today I found a new edit on Prolly. Despite the fact I’ve never been a messenger, and most likely never will be, I really like the documentaires about bike messengers. In my opinion, as a fakenger, you gotta respect where the whole fixed gear culture came from. And you gotta know your place in this whole culture. We fakengers ain’t the shit. We just copy what messengers have been doing for ages.

Yesterday was racing day!
Despite the fact that setting your alarm clock at 7.30am is WAY to early for a Sunday, specially when you went out for a beer the night before, I was really looking forward to a day of playing in the mud! Tjeerd and I were supposed  to be at Le Haute headquarters at 9am, but we left a bit late after some good strong coffee. 
Being used to a kinda hectic and competitive vibe at “normal” alleycat, it was a nice suprise to be amongst real friendly singlespeed mountain bikers. They thought the FUCCIT crew was crazy for riding the race on our fixed gears, but they loved it too.
After the qualifying round I got caught in the second group and I was suprised I could keep up with them. In several climbs I found out that a 30×13 trick gearing isn’t the best for mountain biking, but the group waited at the tops, a nice suprise, coz this still was a race. In “normal” alleycats you would have been left behind… Downhilling was fuccing intense! I loved it! I had to do several drops with my wrong foot in front, so that were sketchy bunnyhops. 
I had to let the group go like a km before the end of the first manifest, coz I was becoming a danger for myself and the group, the 35km of off road racing had taken it’s toll on my legs. In downhills I couldn’t backpedal any more, so all I could do was pray I’ld make it down in one piece and steer through the trees and puddles.
So I have MAD respect for Tjeerd and Le Haute who even did the second (LONG) manifest!
While they were riding, I enjoyed a cold beer and 2 “broodjes warm vlees”. I promissed the guys from my group I would wait for them at the finish, but we got so cold that we decided to cycle back to Arnhem and get a hot shower.

Thank you Ott for organizing this crazy race, and thank you second group for accepting a crazy 700cmx rider in your group and for waiting for me and carrying me through the rough parts!

I’m about to go to Rotterdam for the weekend, so unless I can find a few minutes of my precious time, I don’t think I’ll be posting untill Monday. 
Maybe if you’re lucky, Tjeerd is going to post some big titted girls. But if not, you should either come to Rotterdam for the Death or Glory trick jam, or go outside and play where ever you live, ’cause in Holland the weather is gonna be great this weekend!
