Teaser pics of these Sadio hubs have been floating around the world wide web for quite a while now. But you can finally get them at the Grime right now!
I’m still not pro-pegs, but the fact these hubs can handle the abuse riding with pegs gives them, means they must be tough. And with all the 14mm dropouts that are coming to us soon, the chromoly axles in these hubs are upgradeable to 14mm!
And with a price of $80,- for a rear hub and $70,- for a front hub, they’re not THAT expensive…
And the Grime also sells chromoly cogs, even down to 12t! Perfect setup!
I think I know what hubs I’ll get when my All Cities break down…
Ok, first of all, I wanna make sure it’s clear I’m a big fan of the progression FGFS is going through right now!
BUT, I’m not sure where the whole 26″ thing is going to. Several companies are making FGFS frames specially made for 26″. The Grime YOMANG! frame being one of the first.
That still looked like it was based on what once was a track bike. I’m not a big fan of riding 26″, but that could maybe be because I’m too tall to feel comfortable on a bike with 26″ wheels. But still, I like the looks of this frame. It doesn’t look like a bmx on steroids.
BUT, Volume is now bringing a 26″ version of their Vandal frame:
This is in my honest opinion a bmx on steroids! It’s aimed at FGFS riders and not as a downhill mountain bike frame, so if you wanna ride this, why not get a proper bmx? Or a cruiser if you don’t wanna ride 20″…
Like Skitch once said: “If I ever put pegs on my bike, kick me in the head and give me a real bmx!”
This is my “kick me in the head” kinda thing, if I ever decide to ride a bmx on steroids, you can kick me in the head and give me a real bmx.
Those were my 5 cents, feel free to comment on this…
If this edit from Grime Bikes NYC doesn’t makes you wanna ride, you don’t like FGFS!
Post was edited after a smartass remark by Keng, both of them are riding 26″, so it’s not 700CMX but FGFS…
This is the first pic of the YOMANG! frame I’ve seen with 700c wheels, but what seems to be the fact, this isn’t a YOMANG! but a SUP MANG! frame, the 700c brother of the 650c YOMANG! frame…
My bad…
I must admit the YOMANG! frame does look nice in this picture taken by Matt Lingo at the Summer Fix event…
It’s still not on my might buy list, but it did gain some points!
Pic found at Pedal Consumption.
