I found this great device on Prolly. No more need for a lighter or some table or other hard edge to open your beer, right now you can just open it with the Road Popper!

The Road Popper is a bike-mounted bottle opener that we developed for our own use and decided afterward to share. We designed it to fasten discreetly to the rails on the underside of the saddle to help keep your bike looking crisp. So far, it’s worked on all the bottle caps we’ve tried it on. Material options are bronze infused stainless steel. Finish options are plain (on the right in the photograph), matte gold, glossy gold, matte antique bronze, and glossy antique bronze. The Road Popper is not intended for alcoholic beverages. Chromoly does not condone cycling while under the influence of alcohol.

You can find more info about the Road Popper right here.

Both Prolly and ZLOG pointed me out to the website of Actual Pain. They make a nice collection of tees, wife beaters and vests, all with occult prints on ‘m. And they got a huge collection of free mixtapes, ready for you to download!
Make sure to stay a while on their frontpage, it’s well made!

Josine (Skitch’s gf) was really glad she found a vintage Brooks Colt, and I was really jealous, ’cause imho, the Colt is one of Brooks’ best looking saddles. But thank god, Brooks re-released the Colt! This is the information I found on Prolly:

I was going to do a little write up about the significance of the Brooks Colt saddle but Bens Cycle already did a bang-up job:

First produced in 1979, the Colt became famous among Brooks fans for its strength and durability. The Colt was discontinued amidst mysterious circumstances occurring with the sale of Brooks in 2001, but still remains a common sight on roads and avenues around the globe, a testament to its aforementioned qualities. Oddly many a Colt found its home atop BMX bicycles during this time, an unusual deployment for a Brooks saddle, but certainly not inappropriate.

Today the Colt will appeal to a new generation already romanced by the 80’s retro look, and will therefore be introduced in colours that will appeal to this younger, style-conscious demographic. The Colt is now available in Black, Violet, and Mustard, with Pink and Turquoise being presented at Eurobike 2010. The vibrant colours are achieved through natural vegetable dyes, as are all leathers in the Brooks product line.

I had one on my mountain bike in college and it took a real beating. I’m half considering mounting one on my Bruiser. Joking of course. Grab one here!

The Nike Zoom Tiempo Livestrong is Nike’s fixed gear / cycling shoe. They’ve been out for quite a while now, but today I found out, they’re on sale at Crooked Tongues right now! So now you can get them for just £40.00, that’s 50% off the RRP!

This is what Crooked Tongues says about them:

Taking the Nike Tiempo football boot as the jump-off point design-wise, everyone and their mum is pumping out cycling silhouettes at the moment, but this is better than the usual. A lot better. It helps that Nike know people who ride regularly, from Lance to SF’s MASH team and these are made with the inner-city rider in mind, with the paneling and forefoot shape taking to the pedal with ease. An interesting reappropriation of an iconic design, even if you’re a poser or just looking for the next step from the underrated SB Zoom FC model of old for everyday wear, the Zoom Tiempo fits the bill.

Prolly likes them too:

The shoe’s insole rests on a hard, almost rigid material similar to chipboard, which stiffens them up considerably. Pairing that with a high-density outsole and a new insole, the City Tiempo is one of the stiffest sneakers I’ve worn. Here’s a shot of the shoes on, sans high socks.
It has a deep heel which holds your feet just right, giving you support and reducing annoying rubbing. The long indoor soccer like tongue can be tucked into the laces, or left out.

There’s a pair of these bad boy coming my way, so in a while, I can tell you if they’re as good for cycling as they’re supposed to be!
