Another book I have to get a copy of!
This is what Pedal Consumption wrote about it:
42 x12 — The Cult of the Fixed examines the global repercussions of fixed-gear and single-speed bicycle culture. Through contemporary observation and the collaboration of those on the inside from Taiwan to New York, London to Tokyo, 42 x12 gives a unique insight into what’s going on at ground level.
Brenton Salo of PC has a few of his pics featured in this book… so swoop it HERE!
When FUCCIT asked me to be a member of their blog family i was certainly honored. Yes i can ride a bike, well most of the time. Also sometimes just sometimes I tend to not look so bad naked. Still i am the furthest thing from a writer. My motto with blogging has always been “drink a bunch of coffee and go on endless rants eventually someone will have interest in it, the world is just to big not too” As excited as i was i will tell no lie, i put this off for days. Reason: there is so much more pressure writing a blog that is not your own. I mean you want it to be perfect, you have to be able to hold up to the blog readers standards. If i wanted to make this simple i would just post a bunch of N000Dz from Thefixfixfix.com But this blog is not about how good i look with out any clothing on. Its about My love of cycling.
I guess i will start by telling you guys a little bit about my self…. i am 5′6, bright electric blue eyes with awkward grey rings around them, virgo, i love long walks on the beach, holding hands, poetry, synchronized swimming, playing chess and all indoor activities.
Haaaaaa… just kidding,
My name is Kylee Kross and as many of you know i am an adult film star. I am 25. I was born and raised in the south, molded in the Northeast. i moved form Tennessee to Brooklyn when i was 18. i was instantly fascinated by track bikes. I was in awe of the level of balls it took to get on a bike with no breaks, In a city with cabs flying 60 miles an hour down 5th ave. I knew i had to be a part of that. I have road a bike as long as i can remember. Thanks to my loving late grandfather and the hot pink mongoose he got me for my 9th birthday. I broke my first bone on that bike, and met my first crush on that bike, ahhhhh Adam Caldler. He road BMX so cute his mom hated me…… but whatever off topic. I think you get the point, i have been ripping it with a bike since day one. I was always kind of a tomboy. Dirty nails, bruised shins, scratched knees, trashy mouth, jeans with a old hoodie type of gal. Because of those things Marriage to a bike was perfect for me. That’s what my bike is like to me. My husband. We have a relationship that is so untouchable. We know each inside and out. I think its impossible to be a hard and safe rider without that type of respect for what you are sitting on. We have had a lot of great times together. Just as many bad. Sometimes we ride well and sometimes i fall over just turning a corner. OK by me, I have always said a bike is not truly yours until you eat shit on it. So regardless of our rocky relationship it has always been love after first site, or skid.
Me and my baby boy

So now that you have heard the back story and seen just one of the loves of my life i will update you on life today. Just a few days ago i packed up my bike, My huge duffel bag full of clothing, my messenger bag and off i went across the sea to where i am now. I have always wanted to move out of the country, i figured what better time than now. Plus Virgin Atlantic lets you take “x-tream” spots utilities for free. This is where i am now. Good ole’ London. I must say i have been having a great time. Riding, hanging with friends, Eating good vegan food, and just hanging back. life is good. I am happy to be here and everyday it gets better and better. I cant wait to ride all over this country and that is exsactly what i will do. More to come soon. Thanks for reading, And a huge thanks to FUCCIT for asking me to spit some words for you. Till next time! Ride hard or die trying…
xoxo

In spring 2010 a group of “young” fixed gear riders will ride their bikes from Amsterdam to Paris. During this 5 day trip, they’ll session street spots along the way, taste the local culture (beer or wine) and try to have as much fun as possible!
A film and photo crew will follow them during their adventures to capture all the mayhem this group of enthousiastics will bring to the city of love!

Like most of you might know, Iron Aden is a professional photographer and he’s doing a fixed gear themed portret serie. Today I was the first to get in front of the camara, but he’s looking for way more riders to do the same. Here’s his “advert”:
Hello Mensen…

So tonight at 23:00 you hopefully see the two co-founders of FUCCIT on Dutch national television. On Ned 3 as a item in the news, 90 seconds!
This morning the cameraman and a journalist came to our home town and interviewed Vincent, myself and a guy (Sander was his name I believe) from Amsterdam. Probably you will only see the guy from Amsterdam because Vincent was talking about that his company wouldn’t allow messengers on fixed gear bikes. And he is right! Although he really likes to ride his in his spare time. I’m probably to old and looked like a guru with my grey beard. And could only trackstand so no high speed racing through traffic with dangerous skidding for me. And then we are left with a guy from Amsterdam, a real messenger who works for Infinity Express (I believe), where they all ride brakeless. And does that shit all day. I mean riding ridiculous hard through the city centre of Amsterdam (with all the tourists) on a brakeless fixie. And for the first time in his life wore a helmet. So we gonna see him for 90 whole seconds.
And still it was good fun though. And Sander we will see each other over three months again when your holiday in France is over.
So watch the news of 23:00 on Ned. 3!
