Last Friday, Skitch and I went to see Wouter, the owner of Brainwash, our local skateshop and sponsor. There we were pleasantly surprised by the new Nike 6.0 Brazen. It’s a nice crossover between a dressed chukka kinda shoe and a sneaker. And with the long toebox, it’s perfect for wearing in cages/straps. If you’re gonna get them, get half a size smaller than your normal size, they’re big! Both Skitch and I tried them on, and both of us needed half a size smaller.
Get them while they’re hot!
Yesterday, Skitch, our sponsor Wouter and I went for some fixed gear mountain biking. Well, Mr. Brainwash was on his normal mountain bike, but who cares? These pics were taken half way, so you can imagine how they’re looking right now. In the end we did a 77km ride, most of it being off road, muddy or soft sand mountain bike routes on the Veluwe.
My legs and arse are killing me right now, but it was lots of fun!
P.S. If you ever go riding with these boys, and they say they know a shortcut, DON’T trust them!
Last week there was the Willemeen Miniramp Jam, and my friends from Frisco and Brainwash asked me if I wanted to deejay at the end party on Thursday night. Of course I said yes, it’s nice to help out friends and get a night of free beers and getting your girlfriend and her friend in for free. I started quite slow with easy dubstep to change to baile funk, German hiphop, dirty house, nasty rave and rough electro after 2 hours. Mixing dubstep isn’t that hard, so I spammed Twitter with stupid updates while watching the people come in and skate the first 2 hours. There was a best trick contest too, so I saw some pretty nice tricks while deejaying! You can find a photo report of the night at Tacky.nl.
The night ended kinda strange, coz Dennis (one of the Brainwash team riders) got kicked out for drinking his own beer. If he had to go, we would all go, including me. So the last half hour of the miniramp jam, there were no skaters, and no deejay…

Our dear friend Brainwash Wouter’s bike was stolen this week. So everybody keep an eye out for his bike, it’s quite easy to reconize, so here’s the description since there is no picture of his bike:
The guy (or girl) that brings the bike back to him gets a free pair of shoes I had to tell.
Thanks everybody who showed up and raced yesterday! I had a nice time organizing it, and seeing all the smiling faces at the finish was a nice price for me!
I did build in some cheating options for the Slimme Jongens to possibly beat the Snelle Jongens.
The winner was both fast and smart, but #2 and #3 were smart guys. The #2 even rode the race on 42-19 geared fix!
