Queensday is the biggest street party in Amsterdam which takes place every year on 30th April.

But not only in Amsterdam it’s the biggest party in the whole of fuccing Holland. And it start always the night before so yesterday I went out and met one of our dearest readers. And he asked me if he could sing a song for you guys. Although it has nothing to do with bicycles who am I to refuse?

And now I’m gone cause it’s another day of drinking beer and feel pathetic!

So today  Jos (formally know as Votske™) organized a ‘FGFS & BMX Trick Jam’. And all I can say it was a BIG success (thanks to his enormous network), the crowd was overwhelming. And because I have never seen more then three trick riders at he same time so it was amazing to see four of them. The tricks they did where ‘out of this world’ as you can see in the video (still can’t sleep so stoked I am). Luckily the BMX crew (ASO) didn’t show up because they would look like schoolboys compared to these guy’s. So I want to thank Jos (formally know as Votske™) for the great 15 minutes i’ve got today. And hope that there is more of this trick shit to come.

p.s. Did I mentioned his Blog, his brand (Votske™) and his sponsors (Selle Royal OriginsThe HundredsParadigm BodyartFreshcotton, and Brainwash)

[edit] Apparently there where also some photo’s taken from all the action (this link isn’t going to Votske™) [/edit]

Well this is the story about me and mister Gary Fisher. When I started as a bike messenger I knew the ‘brand’ Gary Fisher, of course everybody did. But I was not so much into mountain biking so I never bought one.
Then in 1998 I met him for the first time during the CMWC in Washington DC. And damn that was cool, one of the great names of mountain biking comes and visits ‘our’ championship and I spoke him briefly. A couple of years later in 2005, I’m at the CMWC in New York. And who is there also Gary Fisher. This time we spoke a bit longer. And damn he is a friendly guy!

Here is a photo I shot with my (crappy) phone camera of him and my good friend Vincent.

The next day all the messengers met each other in some bar downtown NY. So we where there with at least a hundred of us. And I had to take a piss. So when I went to the toilet I see Gary sitting at the bar. On my way back I try to ignore him cause I don’t want to be the ‘groupie’ kind of guy. But he recognizes me (maybe because of the dreads) and says; “I don’t remember your name but it begins with a T and ends with a D. Do you want to drink a beer from me”. I was surprised but all of you who know me, I love a beer. So we drunk a couple of beers together. And later on Vincent also joined us. We had a great conversation about bikes and all the messenger shit.
And from then on I knew I had to buy a Gary Fisher bike. Now after all those years it finally happened, I bought one. Although it’s technically a Trek (Gary Fisher collection) I still think (and speak about it) as a original Fisher bike.
But we wouldn’t be FUCCIT if we didn’t do something with it. We started riding track bikes as one of the first guys here in Holland. It was in 1998 I believe. And now you see them everywhere. We started the whole bike polo shit here in Holland and it’s taking off. We are too old for doing tricks so Vincent and I came to the conclusion that fixed gear mountain biking will be the next big thing. And of course completely brakeless.
So the first thing I did to my brand new bike was to get rid of all the unnecessary parts (read brakes) and bought a bolt-on cog so I could ride fixed.

Well that’s the story here is the bike, let me introduce to you the Trek Gary Fisher Marlin 29er fixed gear  :D

And to Gary, if you read this. The bike rides GREAT!

ps. And no list of parts cause I hate those lists. I ride and it rides damn good.

I was asked by Lot from the Rotterdam Deathrow Honeys to do a bit of promotion for the Arnhem Fallen Angels on FUCCIT. And how can you not support a sport including sexy dressed ladies getting rough?
They’re the local Roller Derby crew who are gonna train weekly on Tuesdays night as from February. So if you’re a tough girl and you wanna join them, go check their Facebook!

First let’s start with compliments to the design of the Team Benelux logo!

The names of the players for the Greif Masters 2 Team Benelux are:

Captain:
Taka (EHVFXD / Eindhoven)

Players:
Jamal (Eindvoven)
Rutger (Eindvoven)
Lorenzo (Eindvoven)
Antoine (Brussels)
Jaouad (Antwerp)
Nicky (Antwerp)
Chris (Antwerp)
Samson (Copenhagen)
Agata (Poland)

I don’t know the details, but since when does the Netherlands stop after Eindhoven? I’m missing some old school FUCCIT players in this list. Where’s Schilham? Where’s Mitch? Where’s Le Haute?
Then again, I don’t know if they have been asked to join, but these three FUCCIT players are some of the best Holland has to offer…
And doesn’t Utrecht, Zwolle and Amsterdam play polo on a regular base too?
I’m not looking for another beef in the Dutch polo scene, but I couldn’t help noticing the total absence of the rest of the Dutch players.

Dear FUCCIT followers,

As you might have noticed, the amount of posts on FUCCIT has gone down drastically.
I survived the first 3 weeks of my new job, well survived sounds dramatic, coz I love my new job! But since my new job is an office job, me sitting behind a computer all day every day, I kinda lost the interest to search the world wide web for interesting content to post on FUCCIT. I still got a real life beside FUCCIT. I need my telly and Mrs. Votske likes attention too…
And I find it harder every day to find kinda original content to put on this blog. It’s the always returning question, what is and what isn’t interesting enough to re-post?
Running a fixed gear blog isn’t as easy as it might sound. Every self respecting fixed gear enthusiast already follows Prolly, ZLOG or Pedal Consumption, so there’s no need to re-post the vids or pics posted there, unless they’re REALLY cool.

I wish I could say I’m posting less because of the fact I’m always outside riding, but that ain’t true… I’m getting really sick and tired of all the ice and snow! It’s been AGES since the last proper street session. Or even a long distance ride…
Maybe I should get this Livestrong Limited Edition Indoor Cycle:

It might not come close to a proper street session, but at least I can get rid of all the extra energy, build up in me. I can’t sit still behind my desk anymore!
That might be one of the New Year’s resolutions I could have, move more! Having an office job combined with quitting smoking sounds like a recipe for getting fat!

I think 2011 can be a very interesting year.
I personally will try to find more original content, focus more on the quality than the quantity of posts.
We should finally go outside and use Tjeerd’s GoPro for making a fixed gear mountain biking / cyclocross edit instead of letting him only use it for his home made bike porn collection.
Will Mitch move from 700C to 26″?
Will I get fat?
Will Tjeerd and Le Haute post more?
Will Mitch make his first post on FUCCIT?
Will bike polo make a return in Arnhem?
Will FUCCIT get a make over?
Will Stoffel move back to Arnhem?
Will Utje finally get pubic hair?
Will Mitch get a better nickname than Skitch or Spiderman?
Will FUCCIT get merchandise?
Will Tjeerd stay bald?
Will Cancellara win the Tour?

Enough questions left to answer in 2011, so FUCCIT! Double C, I, T!

Enjoy your NYE, whatever you might do, where ever you might go!

You might have seen Thomas Ruissen’s first edit I posted a while ago, and right now he has a new edit out! Solid bmxing and a great showing of all the great street spots Arnhem has to offer.

So when is the rest of Holland coming to ride in Arnhem?

Thomas Ruissen is one of the bmx-ers I ride with on a regular base. This kid is up and coming! Love his new (and first) edit!
