The Norwegian Kurt Asle Arvesen must be the hero of the day! He rode 20 km without his bike seat in this years Paris-Roubaix…..

So this evening Vincent and myself went on a bike ride on our fixed gear mountain bikes to Apeldoorn. To see THE mister Eddy Merckx and to be present at the opening of the Track World Championship 2011. We missed THE Eddy by 10 seconds otherwise we would definitely shook hands. But at least we saw some derny races which were cool.
To bad we had to go and also missed the mini concert of the top artist here in Holland, Jeroen van der Boom.
Just fuccing with you, we where scared when he started to sing and left the building in a hurry!

But here is a little clip I made of one of the races.

It’s to cold for me but it looks like a great alleycat. And the ‘beer drinking’ format I like!

The Stupor Bowl is Largest Alley Cat Race in the Country. It takes place in Minneapolis, Minnesota every year the day before the super bowl. There are 2 versions of the race. The Speed race which is just fastest biker wins and the Stupor Race with entails that you drink a beer at each checkpoint.

I will not judge this bicycle just give it one star please. Build by an award winning frame builder. :-(
For the NAHBS | 2011 | North American Handmade Bicycle Show

Shin-ichi Konno of Cherubim For two years in a row, the NAHBS President’s Award has been won by Shin-ichi Konno, chief builder at Cherubim. Shin-ichi comes from a prestigious family of bicycle framebuilders. His father, Hitoshi Konno, started Cherubim in 1965 and built bikes for the 1968 Olympics. Shin-ichi’s brothers built frames under the brands 3Rensho and Miyuki. Not only is Cherubim the only NJS certified builder at the show, Shin-ichi’s concept bikes display an unrivaled level of creativity, craftsmanship and ingenuity. Show attendees could not stop talking about his Speedmaster concept bike last year, and this year people were left speechless when they saw his retro-themed road bike. Interestingly, Cherubim’s frames are not all that expensive—at least not in the world of custom bikes. An NJS keirin frame will set you back about $1400. Visit www.cherubim.jp for more information.

In six days you can register yourself for the 2011 London edition of the Tweed Run. I’ve never been there, but every year I see the pictures, and it looks like a really nice ride. And their posters are always great, just like this one!
So if you’re in the London area, go and join them on the 9th of April!

Found on Hypebeast.
