If anybody sees this bike in Rotterdam or anywhere else, put your lock around and call the cops. This bike belongs to John from Rotterdam Fixed Gear.
It’s almost refreshing to see a video of somebody just riding hard and with style.
I was looking on the Schwalbe website, and there I found out that my favorite tire is going green in 2011. I’m already in love with this tire, got the 35C version in my fixed freestyle bike (will be 40C when my current setup runs out) and the 28C version on my street racer. These tires give almost no spray when riding through wet weather, so most of the times, I don’t even have to use a rain guard on my bike. And they last ages!
I don’t mind caring about the environment every now and then, and now I can do that with buying my favorite tires!
This is what Schwalbe is saying about the 2011 green Marathon:
The original. The archetypal high quality touring tire. Now completely revised:
GreenGuard. The highly elastic, India rubber layer is 3 mm thick. Other manufacturers call such a tire “Plus”. However, Green is not just the colour, but also the philosophy: One third of the GreenGuard is made up of recycled latex products.
“Anti-Aging”. The completely new sidewall construction can withstand for much longer the typical cracking resulting from overloading due to insufficient inflation pressure. Also the new Endurance Compound substantially increases durability.
I’m in love with this cap! This is what Highsnobiety wrote about it:
Japanese Warp Magazine has once again gotten together with some fellow Japanese brand to work on some product. In its latest collaboration they worked with Neighborhood and with Bedwin & The Heartbreakers. With both brand they worked on New Era caps. With Neighborhood they also worked on a t-shirt and two flannel shirts. The product will officially release on November 1st.
And yet another post from Prolly‘s visit to Interbike!
Specialized is getting into Fixed Freestyle! They were on Interbike with 5 prototypes, three 26″ and two 700c versions. I like the looks of them, and they will be sold as a complete for less than $1.000,-. Sounds promising!
Other news from Prolly‘s visit to Interbike. Fyxation are coming in both 23C and 35C versions in 2011!
I loved the grip of the 28C version, so I wonder how the 35C version will hold up.
The downside (according to me) is that the tires wear out so fast, so depending on the price, I might try them, but they have got to be damn good to get me to change from my trusty Schwalbe Marathons…
