Every month they got a critical mass in Antwerp! It might be interesting to join them, we could contact the Fixed Gear Antwerp guys so we can chill with them too. Sounds nice, doesn’t it? Since the August Critical Mass is on Friday the 27th and the Don’t Get Lost in the Back Streets Alleycat is on the 28th. We might book a cheap hostel or try to crash on people’s couches…

The nice guys from Fixed Gear Antwerp are organizing an alleycat, with a very nice flyer! This is what they say about it:

Time to unpack and mount that fiftytwo-toothed cog and speed your way to Antwerp. On the 28th of August we’re organizing the allready infamous Don’t Get Lost in the Back Streets alleycat/messenger race.

Are you still the Pizza Delivery Boy-master? Did you earn your shotgun(s) by irresponsibly taking over the wheel from a cab in GTA? Then you’re the right (wo)man for the job! In fact, we’ll spread a few packages over the city. Up to you to pick ‘em up and deliver them to their next destination. Pretty easy, right? It’s gonna be fast, it’s gonna be fearsome but it’s sure gonna be frekkin’ fun. But look out for alley cats and fixed vixens!

You wanna join in? Mail your name, postal code and social security number to fixedgearantwerp@gmail.com. Act fast cuz we’ve only got packages for twenty roadrunners. There’s absolutely no need to start studying the city-map, we’ll try and make sure you don’t get lost in the backstreets. Oh, don’t forget to bring your backpack/messenger bag and one shiny 2 eurodollar-coin so we can stuff you with food from our bbq!

Even if you don’t feel like racing, just come and join us for fun and drinks at Bar Nadar. And flick your self-hunted marinated chicken-filet on the grill!

This lovely looking German is looking for an appartement in Zwolle, Kampen or Arnhem. So if anyone might know something, please let me know! And ask your friends, family, co-workers if they might know something. He got a job in Kampen, but is still living in Southern Germany, not quite handy, is it? So help us turn this German into a proper Dutchy! And his lovely girlfriend and baby boy…

Thanks!

It’s a shame the Tour de France has come to an end, so that means no more excuses to not go and search for a job instead of watching tv… This also means the results of the FUCCIT Tour Poule are here:

Despite the fact that Tjeerd came pretty close in the end, I still won! Woohoo! Can’t wait ’till next year’s Tour! Or is there a website where you can start a Vuelta Poule?

With only 3 days left, and Tjeerd’s magnificent sprint in the end, it might still get exciting in the FUCCIT Tour Poule! Keep my fingers crossed I’ll win!

The guys from Milwaukee came up with this clever idea for a bike polo fork. This is the story behind it:

The Milwaukee POLO FORK was a collaboration with New York’s Doug D and the Milwaukee Bicycle Co.

Here’s what Doug had to say about his initial idea…

“I was thinking about the convenience of having one spare wheel to replace the front or rear, especially in tournament situations. A 120mm spaced fork made specifically for polo would mean more interchangeability, less spare parts, more gearing options for us single speed and fixed riders. And it would mean that any bike with this fork would breathe polo.”

Coffee seems to be the hot topic these days! MASH teamed up with De La Paz Coffee. This is what they say about this project:

We are teaming up with local SF Coffee roasters De La Paz to offer a 3/4 pound bag of their beans of the week, and an original printed travel mug. We will add info about the beans tomorrow. We will ship fresh beans once per week, on the day they are roasted. We are excited to share our love for this bicycle grown roaster!

ABOUT: De La Paz Coffee is a specialty coffee roasting company which focuses first and foremost on quality coffee. One of our goals, among many is to change the way people think about coffee; whether that means learning more about the small farmer and his family or discerning the difference between an espresso grind or press pot grind. In addition, we’d like our customers to think of coffee as more than just a bag on the shelf.

Original I Am NOT a Paper Cup: made of double-walled porcelain will keep drinks hot and paper cups out of landfills. Durable and great for travel. Matte porcelain finish. MASH, and De La Paz printed on each side. Includes one soft silicone Lid. This is not the 10$ mug, this is the 2 walled cup, that does not transfer heat, and retails for $20.  I am not a paper cup was designed by James Burgess.
